Lighteum Medical, a provider of precision medical components, has named Gaurav Agarwal as its new CEO. He took office on August 31.

Agarwal brings almost 30 years of leadership experience across medical devices, diagnostics, and healthcare technology, including guiding private equity-backed companies through growth and transformation. During his career, he’s been involved in over $15 billion of M&A and more than $11 billion in private equity dispositions.

Most recently, Agarwal was president and CEO of PE-backed Capsa Healthcare, where he led a strategic reset and value-creation plan that drove over 20% revenue and EBITDA growth in 18 months, along with two acquisitions and expansion into software and services. He previously led PE-backed Vyaire Medical and held senior roles at Acelity/KCI, Smith+Nephew, and GE Healthcare.

He joins Lighteum Medical about a year after Lighteum LLC and Medical Device Components LLC combined their manufacturing and innovation capabilities. The San Diego, California-based company focuses on precision precious metal and nitinol components for the medtech market.
